Adding Roles

Adding Roles

To configure roles and assign access privileges to
MDM Hub
resources, use the Roles tool in the
Security Access Manager
workbench.
Avoid spaces in role names. Spaces can cause errors when the
MDM Hub
communicates with ActiveVOS.
  1. Start the Roles tool.
  2. Acquire a write lock.
  3. Point anywhere in the navigation pane, right-click, and choose
    Add Role
    .
    The Roles tool displays the Add Role dialog box.
  4. Enter the name of the role.
  5. Enter an optional description of the role.
  6. Enter an external name, or alias, of the role.
  7. Click
    OK
    .
    The new role appears in the roles list.
