Configuring Field Properties

Configuring Field Properties

When you add fields to the pages of a portal, you can configure the properties of the field with a view of your choice.
All the fields of the record page display a configurable tooltip. By default, the name of the field appears as its tooltip. You can localize metadata to configure custom tooltips.
Complete the following steps to localize metadata and to configure custom tooltips:
  1. Export and save the Metadata Localization bundle.
  2. From the downloaded metadata properties file for the required locale, edit the tooltip for the field.
  3. You can then import the updated language metadata bundle and publish the changes to the portal configuration.
For more information about Metadata Localization, see the
Informatica® MDM Installation and Configuration Guide
.
The types of views available for a field depend on the data type of the field you want to configure. For example, if you want to configure a lookup field with multiple options, you can select the drop-down list or radio button view. If you want to limit the portal user from selecting more than one option, then select the radio button view.
