You can receive the province ISO code in batch, interactive, and fast completion results. The province ISO code is the first three characters of the ISO 3166-2 code of the country. To return the province code, set the Type
attribute of the Province element to ISO. Address Verification returns the province ISO code in the Item 1 field of the element.

Province Information in the United Kingdom

Address Verification returns the province ISO code in the Item 2 field of the Province element in a United Kingdom address.

The following table describes the province hierarchy in the United Kingdom:

Province	Type
Province_1	Postal Province
Province_2	Administrative Province
Province_3	Traditional Province

Within the Royal Mail Database, province ISO codes are available for the Administrative Province. Therefore, Address Verification delivers the province ISO code in the Province_2 field.

Similarly, when you set the Type
attribute to COUNTRY_STANDARD, Address Verification returns the administrative province or county name in the Item 2 field in a United Kingdom address.
