Output port that returns a five-character code that identifies the greater capital city statistical area (GCCSA) to which an Australia address belongs.
A GCCSA defines the physical extent of a capital city in an Australian state or territory. The GCCSA includes the commuter belt for the city in addition to the urban population.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics recognizes 16 GCCSA regions in the Australian Statistical Geography Standard. New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory each have a GCCSA region and a corresponding region for the remainder of the state or territory. The Australian Capital Territory has a single GCCSA region and does not include a region outside the capital. The Australian Bureau of Statistics combines the territories that it recognizes as Other Territories into a single GCCSA region.
A GCCSA comprises multiple level-four statistical areas.
