B2B Data Exchange Workflows Overview

B2B Data Exchange
Workflows Overview

A
B2B Data Exchange
workflow is a set of instructions that define one of the following actions:
  • How to process data that on-premises applications publish to and consume from the
    B2B Data Exchange
publication repository with custom publications and subscriptions. A
    B2B Data Exchange
workflow for custom publications and subscriptions can be based on a PowerCenter workflow, Big Data Management mapping, or Data Quality mapping.
  • What action to take when publication or subscription events are in a defined status, as defined in event monitoring rules that invoke a PowerCenter workflow. A
    B2B Data Exchange
workflow for monitoring rules must be based on a PowerCenter workflow.
Before you create a workflow in
B2B Data Exchange
, you must create the relevant PowerCenter workflow, Big Data Management mapping, or Data Quality mapping. For more information, see the following sections:
You then select the PowerCenter workflow, Big Data Management mapping, or Data Quality mapping when you create the
B2B Data Exchange
workflow in the Operation Console. For more information, see Managing B2B Data Exchange Workflows.
When the operator creates an on-premises publication or subscription with a custom mapping, they select a
B2B Data Exchange
workflow to use for the custom mapping.
You do not need to create a
B2B Data Exchange
workflow for the following publication and subscription types:
  • Publications and subscriptions that use an automatic mapping.
    B2B Data Exchange
creates a PowerCenter workflow and mapping directly from the publication or subscription.
  • Publications and subscriptions for cloud applications. The operator selects an Informatica Cloud task when they create the publication or the subscription.
When the operator creates a monitoring rule that invokes a workflow, they select the
B2B Data Exchange
workflow when they select the actions to take.
