Metadata Manager Administrator Guide

Step 1. Get the Metadata Source Name

Step 1. Get the Metadata Source Name

Before you can create a universal XConnect, you must first get the metadata source name. The metadata source name is a text string that uniquely identifies the metadata source, for example,
Apache Hadoop Hive Server
,
QlikView Files
, or
W3C XML Schema Definition (XSD) 1.0 Reverse Engineering
. You need the metadata source name to create the plug-in definition file.
The metadata source names are listed in the “Supported Metadata Sources” topic. When you create the plug-in definition file, you must enter the metadata source name in the sourcename element exactly as it appears in the “Supported Metadata Sources” topic.
