Host Name

Since the host names of servers containing Teradata database instances are not located in the DBC.HostsInfo system view or DBC.Hosts system table, Metadata Manager retrieves the host name when you set up the ODBC connection (DSN). The Database Server Name parameter stores the host name.

Host name refers to the name of the server hosting the Teradata database instance.
