BCI Update Modes Overview

PowerExchange for SAP NetWeaver integrates with SAP business content to provide an efficient, high-volume data warehousing solution. You can use PowerExchange for SAP NetWeaver to extract business content data from SAP Business Suite applications. You create a processing workflow to extract the data and select an update mode to specify the kind of data that you want to extract.
You can specify one of the following update modes:
  • Full. Extracts all the data that meets the selection parameters you specify.
  • Delta. Extracts only the changed data since the last data extraction.
You can select one of the following delta update options:
Delta initialization with transfer
The PowerCenter Integration Service extracts all the data from a DataSource.
Use this option when you want to extract data from a DataSource for the first time and want to build an initial set of the data.
Delta update
The PowerCenter Integration Service extracts only the changed data since the last data extraction.
Use this option when you want to read only the changed data since the last data extraction.
Delta repeat
The PowerCenter Integration Service repeats the previous delta update.
Use this option when you encountered errors in a previous delta update and want to repeat the delta update.
