Configuring Delta Initialization without Transfer

To configure delta initialization without transfer, perform the following steps:

In step 3 of the

Generate Mapping for BCI Wizard

, specify a directory for the request file or click the

Browse

button and select a directory.

Select

Create New

to create a new delta initialization request.

Select the update mode as

Delta

Click the

Initialize

button.

The delta queue is initialized and the delta pointer in the ROOSGENDLM table is set to the maximum value present for the delta column.

In the update mode list, select

Delta

Click

Save

to save all the settings to the request file.

The PowerCenter Client saves the request file to the specified directory.

After you read the initial set of data by using another product, you can deploy the send request file to extract only the changed data. SAP sends only the data that has the delta column greater than the maximum value that is stored in the ROOSGENDLM table.
