When you add a data map, you can optionally import a copybook to describe the structure of the VSAM data set. The following steps assume that you use a copybook.
Click the
Resources
tab in the
Resource Explorer
.
On the menu bar, click
Add > Data Map
.
On the
Name
page, enter the following information:
In the
Access Method
list, select
ESDS
,
KSDS
, or
RRDS
.
Select the
Import Record Definitions
option.
Select the
RRDS
access method for both fixed-length and variable length RRDS (VRRDS) data sets.
Click
Next
.
On the
Access Method
page, enter information for the access method and click
Finish
.
By default, PowerExchange uses the system-defined buffering for VSAM processing. To tune PowerExchange processing, specify additional VSAM buffers.
On the
Import Copybook - Source Details
page, select the source type. Then select one of the following copybook types:
COBOL
PL/1
Default is
COBOL
.
Click
Next
.
On the
Import Copybook - Remote Details
page for the copybook type, enter information for the copybook and click
Next
.
On the
Import Copybook - Configuration Details
page, select the actions for imported records, fields, and tables and click
