Properties File

The user-defined data type properties file contains the list of user-defined data types and the parameters required to convert the data types to a format that the PowerCenter Integration Service can process.
The name of the properties file must use the following format:
DatabaseType
_UDT_Native_Conversions.properties
You can use a properties file to define conversion parameters for the following database types:
  • Oracle. The properties file must be named Oracle_UDT_Native_Conversions.properties.
  • Microsoft SQL Server. The properties file must be named Microsoft_SQL_Server_UDT_Native_Conversions.properties.
  • IBM DB2. The properties file must be named DB2_UDT_Native_Conversions.properties.
  • Sybase. The properties file must be named Sybase_UDT_Native_Conversions.properties.
The PowerCenter Integration Service looks for the properties files in the following folder:
<TDMInstallationDirectory>/utilities/mapgen/config
UDT functions for Oracle are available in TDM. To handle user-defined data types on other databases, you must write the functions.
