Starting the PowerCenter Client

Starting the PowerCenter Client

When you start PowerCenter Client, you connect to a PowerCenter repository.
  1. From the Windows Start menu, click
    Programs
    Informatica[Version]
    Client
    [Client Tool Name]
    .
    The first time you run a PowerCenter Client tool, you must add a repository and connect to it.
  2. Click
    Repository
    Add Repository
    .
    The
    Add Repository
    dialog box appears.
  3. Enter the repository and user name.
  4. Click
    OK
    .
    The repository appears in the Navigator.
  5. Click
    Repository
    Connect
    .
    The Connect to Repository dialog box appears.
  6. In the connection settings section, click
    Add
    to add the domain connection information.
    The
    Add Domain
    dialog box appears.
  7. Enter the domain name, gateway host, and gateway port number.
  8. Click
    OK
    .
  9. In the
    Connect to Repository
    dialog box, enter the password for the Administrator user.
  10. Select the security domain.
  11. Click
    Connect
    .
    After you connect to the repository, you can create objects.
