The Word-key Service is a specialized Word-key generator. It will build a short (3 byte) Word-key for one word (up to 24 bytes long) using an Algorithm’s Cleaning and Word Stabilization routines.

The Word-key Service can be used when there is a need to build keys and access a file based on a single word, e.g. for text indexing. Remember,

NAMESET

works best with multi-word names so the Word-key Service should not be used to index a name file.
