Step 2. Create an Operation

When you manually create a web service, you can create an operation from the Create a Web Service wizard or the New Operation wizard.
The following table lists the options to create an operation:

Use the Create a Web Service wizard.

From a reusable object or from an empty object.
A reusable object can be a physical data object, a mapplet, or a transformation.
Use the New Operation wizard.
Right-click a web service from the
Object Explorer
or
Outline
view and click
New > Operation
.
Use the New Operation wizard.
Create a web service and then select the web service
Overview
view. In the
Operations
area, click the arrow next to the
New
button and select
New Operation
.
Use the New Operation wizard.
Drag a reusable object into the
Operations
area of the
Overview
view.
