Creating an input and output in advanced mode

Creating an input and output in advanced mode

When you create an input and output, you can add the input and output to the rule logic that you write to an editor in the rule specification.
  1. On the
    Explore
    page, open the rule specification.
  2. In the toolbar, select
    Manage Inputs and Outputs
    .
    The
    Input and Output Management
    dialog box opens. The dialog box lists the current inputs and outputs in the rule specification.
  3. Select the
    Inputs
    or
    Outputs
    tab.
    • To create inputs to use in the rule logic, select the
      Inputs
      tab.
    • To create outputs to use in the rule logic, select the
      Outputs
      tab.
  4. Click
    Add Field
    .
  5. Set the following properties on the field:
    • The input or output name. You can enter alphanumeric characters and underscore characters.
    • The data type of the column in the business data set that the input represents. You can select a date/time, float, integer, double or string data type.
    • The maximum character length of the data values in the input data column.
    • The number of digits that can follow a decimal point in a float value.
  6. Click
    OK
    .
