PRE861_COMPAT Statement

PRE861_COMPAT Statement

Controls whether PowerExchange automatically attempts to use offload processing.
Beginning in PowerExchange 8.6.1, PowerExchange automatically enables offload processing, provided that you use the PRE861_COMPAT=N statement that is supplied in the sample DBMOVER configuration file. For PowerExchange 8.6.1 or later, ensure that PRE861_COMPAT is set to N.
If you use a PowerExchange version earlier than 8.6.1, use PRE861_COMPAT=Y for backwards compatibility with earlier offload processing behavior.

PRE861_COMPAT={
Y
|N}
  • N
    . Use this value for PowerExchange 8.6.1 and later. With this value, if you select
    Auto
    for the
    Offload Processing
    attribute on PWXPC connections, PowerExchange uses offload processing if possible. Also, PowerExchange ignores the
    Offload Processing
    option specified in VSAM and sequential data maps for previous releases.
  • Y
    . Use this value only for PowerExchange versions earlier than 8.6.1. With this value, PowerExchange uses offload processing if you enable it. To enable offload processing for PWX DB2zOS relational connections or PWX CDC Real Time application connections, select
    Yes
    for the
    Offload Processing
    attribute. For PWX NRDB Batch application connections, select either
    Filter Before
    or
    Filter After
    for the
    Offload Processing
    attribute.
    If you use multiple types of PowerExchange data sources on different platforms, PowerCenter data previews and CDC sessions that use PWX connections might terminate with a connection error. To prevent this problem, define a CAPI_SRC_DEFAULT statement for each source type in the DBMOVER configuration file.
Default is Y.
