Global Parameters Overview

Global Parameters Overview

You can create and use parameters to vary the output of a workflow without updating the plan.
Parameters work as placeholders that point to a value. When you add a parameter in a plan, the workflow uses the value that the parameter points to at run time. You can change the value to change the value that the workflow uses.
You can create global parameters in Test Data Manager. You can use global parameters in entities and plans across Test Data Manager. Choose to import a global parameter in to a project or use the parameter in an entity or plan without importing it into the project.
You can create the following types of global parameters:
  • Connection parameter. A placeholder for source or target connections.
  • Owner parameter. A placeholder for source or target schema owner names.
  • Criteria parameter. A placeholder for values that you include in filter criteria in an entity.
Users with Administrator roles and privileges can create and manage global parameters.
