Sending Merge Candidates for Approval Through ActiveVOS

Instead of merging selected entities immediately in
Data Director
(IDD), you can send the suggested merge candidates through an approval workflow that is coordinated by the
ActiveVOS Server
.
  1. In the IDD Data workspace, select
    Matches
    and select the merge candidates as usual.
  2. Click
    Actions
    and select
    Create Merge Task
    .
    The Create Task dialog box opens with default values for all task attributes.
  3. In the Title field, replace the default title with a meaningful title for this workflow.
    For example, include the name of the person in the title, such as
    Merging M Singh
    .
  4. In the Task Type field, ensure that
    Merge Workflow
    is selected.
  5. Change any other default task attributes as required.
  6. Click
    OK
    .
    The
    ActiveVOS Server
    begins executing activities. When the
    ActiveVOS Server
    reaches the first people activity, the
    ActiveVOS Server
    creates an IDD Merge task. Everyone with the DataSteward role receives a task notification in their IDD Task Inboxes. The task notification includes the Title that you specified and has a task type of Merge.
