Configuring Hierarchy Relationships

Configuring Hierarchy Relationships

Configure a hierarchy by adding a root business entity node, adding business entities, and then configuring hierarchy relationships between business entities.
To configure hierarchy relationships, perform the following steps:
  1. Create a hierarchy.
  2. Configure a root node in a hierarchy.
  3. Add a business entity to a hierarchy.
  4. Configure a hierarchy relationship.
  5. Configure the hierarchy settings.
  6. Optionally, configure additional relationship attributes.
You can configure icons that represent business entities and business entity records in
Data Director
. When
Data Director
users view business entities in the
Hierarchy
view, the icon for each record appears. For more information configuring icons, see Creating a Business Entity Root Node.
