Configuring Search Overview

Configuring Search Overview

You can use the
Data Director
application or a custom application to search for data within a specific business entity. You must configure search with Elasticsearch.
Elasticsearch is an open-source, full-text search engine. You can set up Elasticsearch as a single node cluster or as a multi-node cluster to provide distributed indexing and search. Before you configure search in the Provisioning tool, install and set up Elasticsearch and configure the MDM Hub properties for search.
To configure search, perform the following tasks:
  1. Configure the Elasticsearch cluster.
  2. Optionally, create custom Elasticsearch index settings.
  3. Configure the searchable fields.
  4. Configure the search and query results display.
  5. Optionally, configure the layout to display similar records.
After you configure search, you must validate the Operational Reference Store (ORS) and index the search data.
For information about tasks that you must perform before and after you configure search in the Provisioning tool, see the
Multidomain MDM Configuration Guide
.
