introduces the following features and enhancements for Macau:
Native Support for Chinese-language Addresses
You can read and write Macau addresses in traditional Chinese or in Portuguese. From the introduction of the
5.11.0
address verification engine,
Address Verification
returns address results in the traditional Chinese language and the Hanzi character set by default. Previously,
Address Verification
returned address results for Macau in the Portuguese language and in a Latin or ASCII character set by default.
Multilanguage Support for Macau Addresses
You can configure
Address Verification
to return Macau address information in traditional Chinese or in Portuguese.
Use the
PreferredLanguage
attribute to select the preferred language for the addresses that
Address Verification
returns. The default language is traditional Chinese. The DATABASE option on the
PreferredLanguage
attribute specifies the default language. To return Macau addresses in Portuguese, update the
PreferredLanguage
attribute to ALTERNATIVE_2.
Use the
PreferredScript
attribute to select the preferred character set for the address data. The default character set is Hanzi. The DATABASE option on the
PreferredScript
attribute specifies the default character set. To return Macau addresses in Latin characters, update the
PreferredScript
attribute to a Latin or ASCII option.
When you select a Latin script with the default preferred language option,
Address Verification
transliterates the Chinese address data into Cantonese or Mandarin. When you select a Latin script with the ALTERNATIVE_2 preferred language option,
Address Verification
returns the address in Portuguese.
Single-Line Address Verification for Native Macau Addresses in Fast Completion Mode
You can configure
Address Verification
to return valid suggestions for a Macau address that you enter on a single line in fast completion mode. When you enter a partial address in fast completion mode,
Address Verification
returns one or more address suggestions for the address that you enter.
Submit the address in the Chinese language and in the Hanzi script.
Address Verification
returns address suggestions in the Chinese language and in the Hanzi script.
Enter a Macau address in the following format:
[Locality] [Street] [House Number] [Building]
Use the
PreferredLanguage
attribute to select the preferred language for the addresses. The default preferred language is Chinese. Use the
PreferredScript
attribute to select the preferred character set for the address data. The default preferred script is Hanzi.
To verify single-line addresses, enter the addresses in the
AddressComplete
element.
