Updates to Input Language Identification in China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Addresses (5.11.0)

Address Verification updates the evaluation criteria that identify the input language for China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan addresses.
Address Verification
applies the criteria when you select PRESERVE_INPUT as the preferred language option.
In a China, Hong Kong, or Taiwan address,
Address Verification
identifies the input language as English when the following conditions are true:
  • The input data is composed of 7-bit ASCII characters.
  • The input data includes at least one English-language descriptor, for example
    street, avenue
    .
Previously,
Address Verification
identified the input language as English when the input address included an English-language name that matched an entry in the reference data. In the current version,
Address Verification
does not require a reference data match.
In a Macau address,
Address Verification
identifies the input language as Portuguese when the following conditions are true:
  • The input data is composed of 7-bit ASCII characters.
  • The input data includes at least one Portuguese-language descriptor, for example
    rua, avenida
    .
Previously,
Address Verification
identified the input language as Portuguese when the input address included a Portuguese-language name that matched an entry in the reference data. In the current version,
Address Verification
does not require a reference data match.
Informatica added the feature in Address Verification (On-Premises) 5.11.0.
