Extended Archives and Japan Addresses

The Japan archive and enrichment databases can contain multiple versions of an address. You can use the Choumei Aza code enrichments to obtain the Choumei Aza code for any version of an address that you enter.

The following table shows a Japan address with two older versions and the Choumei Aza codes for each version:

Consider the following rules and guidelines for Choumei Aza codes and extended archives:

If you verify the oldest address, the CHOUMEI_AZA_CODE value is 27385006000.

If you verify the oldest address, the NEW_CHOUMEI_AZA_CODE value is 27201334000.

If you verify the oldest address, the CURRENT_CHOUMEI_AZA_CODE value is 27147007000.

The CHOUMEI_AZA_CODE enrichment does not by default return the oldest version of the address in the reference data. If you verify the intermediate address and you specify the CHOUMEI_AZA_CODE enrichment, Address Verification returns 27201334000.
