To migrate a packaged or universal resource between Metadata Manager instances of the same version, you must migrate the resource configuration and custom attributes to the target environment. If you migrate a universal resource, you must also copy the plug-in to the target environment. To migrate objects, you export them from the source repository and import them into the target repository.

If you migrate a universal resource, copy the plug-in to the Metadata Manager Service plug-ins directory in the target environment, and then recycle the Metadata Manager Service.
Metadata Manager imports the universal XConnect and model in the target environment when the Metadata Manager Service is enabled.
If you added custom class attributes to the model in the source environment or if the model has associated rule set definitions, migrate the model:
Export the model from the source repository. On the

. Include the rule set definitions in the export file.
Import the model into the target repository. On the

Migrate the resource configuration:
Export the resource configuration from the source repository. On the

. If the resource has associated rule sets or parameter files, include them in the export file.
Import the resource configuration into the target repository. On the

Load the resource in the target environment.
If you updated the values of custom attributes or the business names for objects in the source environment, migrate the resource metadata:
