DTLMSG_CODEPAGE Statement

DTLMSG_CODEPAGE Statement

The DTLMSG_CODEPAGE statement specifies the code page identifier that indicates which language version of the PowerExchange messages file to use.
If you specify DTLMSG_CODEPAGE=UTF8, you must also specify the DTLMSG_LANGUAGE statement to indicate the language.
To determine the name of the messages file, PowerExchange concatenates the following elements:

For the
code_page
variable, enter a code page identifier. Default is blank, which selects the UTF-8 English-language messages file, dtlmsg.txt.
  • To use the UTF-8 English-language version of the messages file, dtlmsg.txt, accept the default value by not defining the DTLMSG_CODEPAGE statement.
  • To use the localized Japanese messages file, define the following statement:
    DTLMSG_CODEPAGE=SHIFT-JIS
    PowerExchange uses the multibyte version of the messages file, dtlmsg_SHIFT-JIS.txt.
  • To use the localized Brazilian Portuguese messages file, define the following statements:
    DTLMSG_CODEPAGE=UTF8 DTLMSG_LANGUAGE=PORTUGUESE-BZ
    PowerExchange uses the UTF-8 Brazilian Portuguese version of the messages file, dtlmsg_UTF8_PORTUGUESE-BZ.txt.
