Exporting a Mapping Specification to PowerCenter

Exporting a Mapping Specification to PowerCenter

Export the mapping specification logic to a PowerCenter repository or an XML file if you do not have permissions on the PowerCenter repository.
  1. From the
    Actions
    menu, select
    Export
    .
    The
    Export
    wizard appears.
  2. Select
    PowerCenter
    .
  3. Click
    Next
    .
  4. Choose to export the mapping specification as a mapplet or a mapping to PowerCenter.
    • To export the mapping specification as a mapplet, select the option to use the target in the mapping specification.
    • To export the mapping specification as a mapping, select a target from the
      Target Objects
      panel.
  5. Optionally, click
    Data Preview
    to preview the target data.
  6. Optionally, click
    Properties
    to view the target properties.
  7. Click
    Next
    .
  8. Choose to export the mapping specification to an XML file or to a PowerCenter repository.
  9. Enter the export properties.
  10. Click
    Next
    .
  11. Optionally, enter another name for the mapping specification.
  12. Optionally, enter a description.
  13. If you chose to export the mapping specification to a PowerCenter repository, select a folder in the PowerCenter repository to export the mapping specification.
  14. Click
    Finish
    .
    The Export to PowerCenter process creates a mapplet or mapping based on the target selected during export in the PowerCenter repository. If you choose to export to an XML file, you can download the file and provide it to a Powercenter developer.
