Sharing Mapping Specification Logic Overview

After you create a mapping specification and build the business logic for the mapping specification target, you can share the logic or results of the mapping specification with other analysts and developers.

You can share the mapping specification logic and results in the following ways:

Export the mapping specification logic to Microsoft Excel.: Share the mapping specification to document and review the mapping specification with other analysts and developers to modify the mapping specification with the review feedback.

Export the mapping specification logic to PowerCenter.: Share the mapping specification logic or share an XML file that contains the mapping specification logic with a PowerCenter developer to use in a mapplet or mapping.; During the export to PowerCenter process, an analyst who does not have permissions to export the mapping specification to a PowerCenter repository can choose to export the mapping specification logic as an XML file.
