Overview

You can back up and restore the Data Vault files using the same process you use to back up and restore other file systems in your organization.

The Data Vault Service does not require a specialized backup process. If you have an established file backup and restore process in your organization, you can use the same process to back up and restore the files in a Data Vault.

You can back up the Data Vault files in the following ways:

Offline backup. The Data Vault Service must be shut down before the start of the backup or restore process.

Online backup. The Data Vault Service continues to operate during the backup or restore process.
