Step 3. Configuring Hierarchy Workflow Triggers

Create a trigger that launches the hierarchy workflow and creates a hierarchy task. For example, you might want changes that Data Stewards make to a hierarchy to trigger a hierarchy task.
  1. Configure a workflow trigger.
    1. Click
      Business Entity
      Tasks
      , and then select
      Triggers
      .
    2. Click
      Create
      .
    3. In the properties panel, enter
      HierarchyOneStepApproval
      .
      The Repository Manager refers to the name when reporting trigger validation errors.
    4. Select
      Start Workflow
      so that the event trigger launches a workflow.
    5. Configure the following parameters:
      Parameter
      Input
      Template
      HierarchyApprovalTemplate
      Task Type
      HierarchyFinalReview
      Task Kind
      Hierarchies
      Process
      HierarchyOneStepApprovalTask
    6. Click
      Apply
      .
  2. Configure events for a workflow trigger.
    1. In the tree view panel, select
      Events
      , and then click
      Create
      .
    2. In the properties panel, from the
      Event
      list, select
      ModifyHierarchy
      .
    3. Click
      Apply
      .
  3. Configure roles for a workflow trigger.
    1. In the tree view panel, select
      Roles
      , and then click
      Create
      .
    2. In the properties panel, from the
      Role
      list, select the MDM Hub role.
      For example, select Data Steward if you want changes that Data Stewards make to a hierarchy to trigger a hierarchy task.
    3. Click
      Apply
      .
    4. Optionally, configure additional roles.
  4. Optionally, configure the hierarchies that trigger hierarchy tasks.
    If you do not configure hierarchies, hierarchy tasks are triggered for all hierarchies.
    1. In the tree view panel, select a role.
    2. Select
      Hierarchy
      , and then click
      Create
      .
    3. In the properties panel, from the
      Hierarchy
      list, select a hierarchy.
    4. Click
      Apply
      .
    5. Optionally, configure additional hierarchies.
