Connecting to a JDBC Data Source

To enable the the Data Integration Service to write to relational targets, download JDBC driver .jar files to the Data Integration Service host and to all client machines that run mappings that have relational targets.
Obtain the driver .jar file from the database vendor. For example, to access an Oracle database, download the file
ojdbc.jar
from the Oracle website.
  1. Place the JDBC driver .jar file in the following directory on the Data Integration Service machine
    <Informatica installation directory>/externaljdbcjars
. Then recycle the Data Integration Service.
  2. Place the JDBC driver .jar file in the following directory on machines that host the Developer tool:
    <Informatica installation directory>/clients/externaljdbcjars
. Then recycle the Developer tool.
