Effective in version 6.1.1, the data visualization component has changed in the following ways:
You access data visualization from the
Data Visualization
menu option.
Previously, you accessed data visualization from
Data Discovery
Data Visualization
.
You need the Report Designer system-defined role assigned to your user account to create, execute, delete, or publish a report.
Previously, you had to have the Report Administrator system-defined role assigned to your user account. The Report Administrator role is obsolete. When you upgrade, users with the Report Administrator role will be automatically assigned the Report Designer role.
You need the Report Viewer system-defined role assigned to your user account if you want to view and execute reports.
Previously, you could view reports if you had the Discovery User system-defined role assigned to your user account. When you upgrade, users with the Discovery User role will not be able to see the
Data Visualization
menu option or automatically assigned to the Report Viewer role.
You can create a report based on unrelated tables. Select the tables you require and then create child-parent relationships in data visualization.
Previously, you could select only related tables for your report.
You must have JDK 6.0 installed on the same server as you installed Data Archive.
Previously, you could have JRE 6.0 or JDK 6.0 to use data visualization. If you had JRE, upgrade to JDK 6.0 to use the 6.1.1 version of data visualization.
You cannot upgrade the data visualization component from a previous Data Archive release. You must install it through the Data Archive 6.1.1 installer.
Previously, you could upgrade the data visualization component by setting an upgrade property in the
SilentInstall.properties
file.
You can set the number of minutes that user credentials are cached in memory without querying the ILM repository. To enable this, configure the
User cache timeout
property on the Data Visualization tab of the System Profile page.
