Creating the Shuffle Rule

Creating the Shuffle Rule

Create a shuffle rule in Test Data Manager.
  1. In the
    Policies
    view, click
    Actions
    New
    Masking Rule
    .
    The
    New Rule
    window appears.
  2. Enter a name and optional description for the rule.
  3. Select the string datatype and standard shuffle masking type. Select override allowed.
  4. Click
    Next
    .
  5. Enter the following shuffle masking parameters:
    • Shuffle type. Select Random.
    • Constrained. Select Constrained.
    The following image shows the shuffle masking parameters:
    The New Masking Rule dialog box shows shuffle masking properties and exception handling options. The properties display the information that you selected in the task. There are no exception handling parameters.
  6. Click
    Finish
    .
    The rule appears in the
    Policies
    view.
