Installation process

Installation process

A
CDI-PC
installation includes multiple components that are interdependent.
To ensure that you can perform tasks in
CDI-PC
, install all the CDI-PC components and perform all configuration tasks in the correct order as mentioned in this guide.
Perform the following high-level installation tasks to get started with CDI-PC:
  1. Install the Secure Agent.
Verify the requirements and perform all configuration tasks to install the Secure Agent.
For more information, see Installing Secure Agents
  2. Run the installer to create a
    CDI-PC domain
, join a domain, or migrate an Informatica domain.
You can't perform any of these tasks manually. You must run the installer.
Perform the required prerequisite and post-requisite tasks. The tasks vary depending on whether you install or migrate the domain. When you migrate, you migrate the Informatica domain and the following services:
    • Analyst Service
    • Data Integration Service
    • Content Management Service
    • Metadata Access Service
    • Model Repository Service
    • monitoring Model Repository Service
    • PowerCenter Integration Service
    • PowerCenter Repository Service
    • PowerExchange Listener Service
    • PowerExchange Logger Service
    • PowerCenter SAP BW Service
    • Search Service
    • Web Services Hub Service
If the domain includes other services, you can't proceed with migration.
The Data Integration Service, the Model Repository Service, and the monitoring Model Repository Service apply only to Data Engineering Integration modernization in the native environment.
  3. Install the
    CDI-PC Client
    .
Verify the requirements and perform the prerequisite tasks before you install the client.
Install the client even if you migrate an Informatica domain. You can't use the PowerCenter Client with
    CDI-PC
    .
CDI-PC thick client updates are not mandatory. The clients released in the previous versions of CDI-PC are compatible with CDI-PC April 2025.
For more information, see Install the CDI-PC Client.
  4. When you create a domain, join a domain, migrate a domain, or update a domain, make sure that you do not configure the following directories under
    INFA_HOME
    :
    • sitekey
    • Administrator Console keystore
    • Node keystore
    • Node truststore
    • Domain log
    • System log
    • Database truststore location
    • SAML keystore directory
    • SAML truststore directory
    • Backup directory
Make sure that you create custom configuration files or directories only within the
    /usr
directory and avoid placing them elsewhere in the installation folder.
