Importing assets metadata

Importing assets metadata

Create a bulk update task to export the metadata of the assets you have converted and migrated to the cloud platform.
Before you create a bulk update task, ensure that your role has all the necessary permissions. For information on assigning the required permissions, see
Asset Permissions
.
  1. On the left navigation menu, click
    New
    .
    The
    New Asset
    dialog box appears.
  2. Click
    Bulk Update Task
    , and then click
    Create
    .
    The
    New Bulk Update Task
    page appears.
  3. The following table describes the properties that you need to configure:
    Property
    Description
    Bulk Update Operation
    Type of bulk update operation you want to perform. Select
    Update Metadata
    to update the metadata of the assets.
    Task Name
    Name of the bulk update task.
    Description
    Optional. Description of the bulk update task.
    Task Location
    Click
    Browse
    , and select the project or folder location where you want to create the bulk update task.
    Template File Location
    Location of the template file that contains the metadata to update the assets.
    Select one of the following location types:
    • Update from local file system
      to upload the template file from your local system. Click
      Validate
      , and verify if the template file is valid.
    • Update from shared location
      to provide the shared location path of the template file and the runtime environment. Click
      Validate
      , and verify if the shared location path is valid.
  4. Click
    Next
    .
    Review the task details before you save and run the task.
  5. Do one of the following actions:
    • Click
      Save and Close
      to save the bulk update task.
    • Click
      Save and Run
      to save and run the bulk update task.
You can view the list of bulk update tasks in the
Explore
All Tasks
page. Use the
Type
filter to filter and view all the available bulk update tasks.
