You can associate custom data types with reference entity fields. When you associate a custom data type with a field, you enter the location of the resource where your custom data types are defined. For example, you can attach files, include hyperlinks, and provide image URLs.
Click

Select the reference entity.
In the tree view panel, select
Fields
, and then click
Create
.
The
New Field
form appears in the properties panel.
In the
New Field
form, enter a field name and a field label name.
For example, enter
Picture
for an image,
Email
for a hyperlink, or
Document
for an attachment as the field name and field label name.
Select the URI,
urn:co-types.informatica.mdm
, where your custom data types are defined.
Select a custom data type.
Before you add a data type to a field, create the custom data types in the namespace.
To associate the field with a base object column, select a base object column.
Before you add a field to a node, an MDM administrator must create the base object column in the MDM Hub.
Optionally, select the
Read Only
,
Required
,
Searchable
, and
Filter
check boxes based on your requirement.
If you select
Searchable
, additional search properties appear. For information about the search properties, see

Click
Apply
.
The changes are saved but are not published to the MDM Hub.
