The example of indexing by key at the start of this chapter, illustrates how to use the

target

property with indexing. The following figure illustrates how to configure the

target

property of the

RepeatingGroupMapping

The

target

property identifies the following data holders:

Locator

component identifies an occurrence of

Person

. Each iteration creates a new occurrence of

Person

LocatorByKey

component identifies the occurrence of the

Hobby

element, where the occurrence of

Person

should be nested. If the

Hobby

element already exists, the transformation uses it. If the

Hobby

element does not yet exist, the transformation creates it.
