Deleting a Capture Registration

Deleting a Capture Registration

You can delete capture registrations that you no longer need to use. You must delete one registration at a time.
When you delete a registration, PowerExchange deletes the registration from the CCT file, which is on the system where the data source resides. PowerExchange does not delete the extraction map associated with a deleted registration. However, you can manually delete the extraction map.
After a registration is deleted, if you want to capture changes for the same source object again, you must re-create the registration. When you re-create the registration, the extraction map is regenerated.
  1. If the capture registration is open, close it.
  2. On the
    Registration Group
    tab in the
    Resource Explorer
, select the capture registration and click the
    Delete
    button on the toolbar.
A message box prompts you to confirm the deletion.
  3. To confirm the deletion, click
    Yes
    .
  4. If the registration is active, a second message box prompts you to confirm that you want to delete the registration rather set its status to
    History
    . Click
    Yes
to confirm the deletion, or click
    No
    to cancel the deletion.
    If you click
    Yes
to delete a Microsoft SQL Server registration, PowerExchange attempts to delete the associated SQL Server article from the publication database. If PowerExchange cannot delete the SQL Server article for any reason, an error is displayed and an additional message box prompts you to confirm the registration deletion again. If you click
    Yes
to confirm the deletion, you must manually delete the associated SQL Server article.
After a registration is deleted, PowerExchange no longer captures change data for the source object that was defined in a deleted registration.
