Implementation Scenario

Implementation Scenario

A data archive retirement project uses PowerExchange ODBC to access IMS and VSAM data sources on z/OS. This implementation includes the following systems and components.
The following table describes the components required for each system implementation:
System
Requirements
z/OS system with IMS and VSAM data sources
If you are using Data Archive engine 5.3.7 to 6.4.4, install PowerExchange 9.1.0 HotFix 4 or later.
If you are using Data Archive engine 6.5 HotFix 1 and later, install PowerExchange 10.2.0 HotFix 2.
Linux, UNIX, or Windows system that has the following type of storage and software:
  • Data Vault Server
  • NFS or local storage for the encapsulated BCP files
If you are using Data Archive engine 5.3.7 to 6.4.4, install PowerExchange 9.1.0 HotFix 4 or later.
If you are using Data Archive engine 6.5 HotFix 1 and later, install PowerExchange 10.2.0 HotFix 2.
You must copy the DataDirect Driver Manager and define PowerExchange ODBC data sources.
Database repository for ILM, PowerCenter, and DVO schema
Install PowerExchange and define PowerExchange ODBC data sources.
Validation server with the PowerCenter Domain, the PowerCenter Client, FAS ODBC, and DVO installed
-
Microsoft Windows
If you are using Data Archive engine 5.3.7 to 6.4.4, install PowerExchange 9.1.0 HotFix 4 or later.
If you are using Data Archive engine 6.5 HotFix 1 and later, install PowerExchange 10.2.0 HotFix 2.
You must also run the PowerExchange Navigator.
