JDBC Driver Requirements

The Data Vault Service JDBC driver requires Java and the Data Vault Service ODBC driver.

Before you use the JDBC driver, verify that Java is installed on the machine where you plan to connect to the Data Vault and set the environment variables for the class and library path.

Java: Verify that you have the correct Java version installed. The JDBC driver requires the 32-bit or 64-bit Java version 1.6, based on the ODBC driver version you use.
CLASSPATH: Set the Java CLASSPATH environment variable to the path and file name of the JDBC driver. For example:
Set CLASSPATH=/usr/FAS/jdbc/nucleus.jar
Library path: Set the library path environment variable to the directory where the ODBC driver is installed. For example, to set the library path for 32-bit Java:
Set LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/FAS/odbc32
or
Set LIBPATH=/usr/FAS/odbc32
