Workflow for Configuring High Availability

Workflow for Configuring High Availability

You must start the high-availability configurations from a default topology. You can configure multiple backup instances for the source controllers and event processors. You need to assign these instances to run on different nodes.
When the primary instance goes down, the backup instance becomes the primary and processes the events and rules. Meanwhile, the previous primary becomes the backup instance. A high-availability-enabled mode prevents loss of events.
  1. Shut down the run time.
  2. On the
    Administration
tab, select the default topology, and add one or more nodes.
  3. Select the host for each node and provide the port number.
The port number must be unique.
  4. To create one or more instances of the run-time component, select the specific run-time component from the Topology tree in the navigator.
  5. Add the component to the topology from the
    Actions
    menu on the upper-right pane.
  6. Select the
    Deployment Mode
    as
    High Availability
    .
  7. Select the node where you want to run the primary instance and the node that you want to run the backup instance, and save the configuration.
You can choose to run multiple backup instances of the application services across nodes.
  8. Start the run time.
  9. The grid manager initializes the primary and secondary processes, as designated.
