Step 1. Extract the DVOCmd Files

Step 1. Extract the DVOCmd Files

The installer files are compressed and distributed as a .tar file.
You must install DVOCmd on a machine that hosts a node in the Informatica domain.
To unzip the .tar file on Solaris, use GNU Tar. You can download GNU Tar from the following website: http://www.gnu.org/software/tar/
  1. Log in as a user with permission to untar the DVOCmd files.
  2. Use binary mode to transfer the tar file to a machine that hosts an Informatic domain node through FTP.
  3. From the command line, unzip or untar the DVOCmd package to a directory, such as the home directory.
For example, you might run the following command:
    cd $HOME tar -xvf install-dvocmd-<version>.tar
This command creates the installation directory structure and extracts files to the directory.
  4. To convert the text files to a UNIX format, run the following command from the DVOCmd installation directory:
    $HOME/DVO/DVOCmd dos2unix DVOCmd
