JOB_START_MINIMUM_BELOWLINE_MEMORY_KB

JOB_START_MINIMUM_BELOWLINE_MEMORY_KB

The JOB_START_MINIMUM_BELOWLINE_MEMORY_KB statement specifies the minimum z/OS memory below the 16 MB line that must be present before the PowerExchange Listener on z/OS allows an incoming connection request to start a task.
On z/OS, the following data sources use memory below the 16 MB line:
  • Adabas
  • Datacom
  • IDMS
  • Sequential QSAM files
A minimum of 3000 KB is suitable in most circumstances. In rare situations, such as when message PWX-3207 is written to the log when many concurrent Adabas tasks are running, consider lowering the below-the-line memory limit. However, note that lowering this memory limit increases the risk of S878 abends.
