JOB_START_MINIMUM_MEMORY_MB

JOB_START_MINIMUM_MEMORY_MB

The JOB_START_MINIMUM_MEMORY_MB statement prevents PowerExchange jobs on z/OS from starting if the extended memory available in the JCL control region is less than value specified in the statement.
When the PowerExchange Listener does not have required memory to start a task, the following events occur:
  • The Listener logs message PWX-00644.
  • The Listener suspends the incoming connection request until the required memory becomes available.
  • After the required memory becomes available, the Listener accepts the incoming connection if the PowerExchange Client has not timed out.
You should only change the value of this statement at the direction of Informatica Global Customer Support.

JOB_START_MINIMUM_MEMORY_MB=
megabytes
Specify a value between 20 and 100, only at the direction of Informatica Global Customer Support. Lowering the value to 20 might allow more tasks to start before the Listener suspends incoming connections, but the lower value increases the possibility of memory-related S878 abends. Increasing the value to 100 reduces the risk of S878 abends, but also reduces the number of tasks that can be accepted before the Listener suspends incoming connections. An optimal setting should allow the PowerExchange Listener to handle at least 140 tasks without memory abends.
Default is 50.
