Using System States

Here’s an example of how the MDM Hub could enable a workflow scenario using system states:

A data steward uses the Data Manager or Merge Manager to edit a record in the Hub. The system state of the record is initially defined as PENDING.

A manager then evaluates the record change and either approves it for promotion to the ACTIVE state, or escalates the decision.

Once the decision is made, the record is either deleted (if the approval is rejected), or approved, and the data steward can then promote the record to ACTIVE state.
