Creating New Relationships

When creating new relationships, the group of entities must all be the same entity type. If they are not, an error message displays. The Relationship Record Editor is displayed, allowing you to select the hierarchy and relationship types, start and end dates, and any attributes specific to the relationship type.
To create new relationships using a bulk operation:
  1. Select two or more entities of the same type.
  2. Taking care to remain in Select Mode, drag the selected entities to the entity you wish to relate them to, and drop them.
One or more of these relationships may already exist. Be careful not to create duplicates.
The Relationship Record Editor is displayed.
The selections for hierarchy and relationship type vary depending on the HM configuration and the types of the entities being related.
  3. Enter the start and end dates for the new relationships, and edit any other attributes for the relationship.
  4. If necessary, click
    Set Default Trust Override Settings
for any trusted criteria you are editing.
  5. Click
    OK
    .
The relationships are added and a screen shows how many relationships were added, how many duplicates were found, and so on.
Creating new relationships can only be done in the graphic view.
