Typical Hierarchy Manager Steps

A typical data steward will perform the following steps when they are using HM :

Access HM through the Hub Console.

Acquire a lock.

Create a search filter (optional).

Adjust HM properties (such as how many results to display in a window).

Conduct an entity search in either the Graphic or Text view by clicking the

button and entering search criteria.

Choose the type of Graphic view to display results.

Display search results in both Graphic and Text view.

Bookmark a search’s criteria so that the search can be used again (optional).

Use the Fetch Hops function to retrieve relationships related to one or more entities.

Add, delete, or edit an entity or relationship.

Decide the trust level of entities.

Save or print results.
