Editing Tasks

Editing Tasks

You can edit the details of tasks. For example, if changes are made to the record of an important client, you might want to increase the priority of tasks related to the client. Or, if you plan to be away and want to finish a set of tasks before you leave, you can change the due dates for the tasks.
  1. Click
    Task Manager
    .
    The task panel contains a list of tasks.
  2. To edit your assigned tasks, select
    My Assigned Tasks
    .
    The task panel lists your assigned tasks.
  3. To edit all available tasks, select
    All Available Tasks
    .
    The task panel lists all available tasks.
  4. Optionally, to find tasks to manage, use custom filters or search.
    1. Click the
      Filters
      icon, and then add filters.
    2. In the search box, enter a search term, and then click the search icon.
  5. From the
    Selected
    list, select
    Edit
    .
    The
    Edit
    dialog box appears.
  6. Edit one or more of the following fields to change the task properties of the selected tasks:
    Field
    Description
    Task Title
    Enter a title that is more meaningful to you. A good title includes at least the name of the record and the change that initiated the review.
    Priority
    Select a priority that reflects the urgency within the business to resolve this change.
    Due Date
    Select a due date that reflects the urgency within the business to resolve the change.
    Assignee
    Reassign this task to someone else.
    Only potential owners shared by all the selected tasks appear. For more information, see Potential Owners .
    File Attachment
    Attach files to provide additional information about the task. Attachments appear in the
    Task Details
    dialog box.
    The
    File Attachment
    field is available only if the task supports attachments.
    Add Comment
    Add comments to explain edits to the task properties and to track questions and answers about the task. Comments appear in the
    Comments
    tab.
  7. Click
    Save
    .
The task panel updates. You can view the edited task details in the
Task Details
dialog box for each task. Based on your changes, some tasks might not appear in the task panel.
