Before You Install

Before You Install

Complete the following tasks before you install Proactive Monitoring for PowerCenter:
  • Read the Release Notes for updates to installation process and support changes.
  • Verify system and disk space requirements to install Proactive Monitoring for PowerCenter.
  • Prepare the databases:
    • Create a read-only user for the PowerCenter repository database.
    • Create a database for the Proactive Monitoring repository.
  • Plan the installation to decide which tasks you want the installer to perform.
  • Download and extract the following installation files:
    • Proactive Monitoring for PowerCenter
    • Command line utilities
  • Verify the license key.
  • Configure the command line utilities:
    • Install Microsoft Visual Studio on Windows.
    • Copy domain files.
    • Set environment variables.
    • Create a PowerCenter folder to store the operations workflow.
    • Configure the control file that the installer uses to import the operations workflow.
    • Encrypt the password to enable secure communication for the command line utilities.
  • Create a system user account to perform the installation.
  • Record information that you need to run the installer.
