In addition to the statistical area name, the Australian Bureau of Statistics uses a nine-digit code and a five-digit code to recognize a level-two statistical area. The nine-digit code contains discrete identifiers for all regions in the Australian Statistical Geography Standard main structure to which the area belongs, including the level-two statistical area itself. The five-digit code contains identifiers for the level-two statistical area and for the state or territory to which the area belongs. To return a level-two statistical area code for an address, use the Level Two Statistical 9-Digit port or the Level Two Statistical Area 5-Digit port.
