JDBC Driver Installation

JDBC Driver Installation

To use the Data Vault Service JDBC driver from a client machine, install the Data Vault Service ODBC Driver component. The ODBC driver component contains the ODBC and JDBC drivers that you need to connect to the Data Vault.
Use the Data Vault Service installer to install the JDBC driver. The ODBC and JDBC drivers are shipped with a number of Data Vault Service components. If you install a component that contains the ODBC and JDBC drivers, you do not need to install the drivers separately.
The following Data Vault Service components contain the JDBC driver:
Data Vault Service
To use the Data Vault, you install the Data Vault Service component. The Data Vault Service component includes the ODBC and JDBC drivers.
The Data Vault Service installer copies the JDBC driver to the following folder:
<DataVaultServiceDirectory>/jdbc
Data Vault Service ODBC driver
To connect to the Data Vault from a client machine, install the ODBC driver. The ODBC driver installation files includes the JDBC driver.
The Data Vault Service installer copies the JDBC driver to the following folder:
<DataVaultServiceODBCDriverDirectory>/jdbc
Data Vault Service Data Archive plug-in
To use the Data Vault with Data Archive, you install the Data Vault Service Data Archive plug-in component on the machine that hosts the Data Archive ILM Engine. The Data Vault Service Data Archive plug-in includes the ODBC and JDBC drivers. You can use the drivers to connect to the Data Vault from the Data Archive server.
The Data Vault Service installer copies the JDBC driver to the following folder:
<DataArchiveDirectory>/webapp/file_archive/jdbc
The Data Vault Service JDBC driver is in the file named
nucleus.jar
